Your Change For Her Change Campaign

Your Change for Her Change is a means by which groups, organizations and particularly classrooms can gather coins in support of CHANGE HER WORLD as we work to give girls in developing countries the opportunity to go to school.

Every effort will be made to ensure funds raised by schools will be directed towards school fees and where applicable, uniforms. However, it is a stark reality that making sure that the children are fed may at times take precedence.

How it Works

Print off the Activity Sheet double-sided on a piece of paper.

The front side will indicate an everyday activity or privilege that we have and the “fee” associated with that activity. On the reverse is a small information blurb that explains how people in Malawi do not have the same privileges that we do.

For example, pay “$2.00 if you have a family doctor, naturopathic doctor or nurse practitioner that you can see if you are unwell” because “in Malawi, there are 4 doctors for every 100,000 people. There are very few allied healthcare professionals also.”

For each day of the month: read the awareness information, pay the fee indicated, and put the coins into a container.

We also invite and encourage teachers in particular to learn more about our projects, and take the opportunity to teach the children about these countries; especially about the children who are not able to go to school the way children in Canada can. As part of the campaign, we will provide containers to collect the coins and/or provide CHANGE HER WORLD stickers that could adhere to a container supplied by the group doing the collecting of coins.

At the end of the month, count the coins collected and send the fundraised amount, by cheque payable to CHANGE HER WORLD, to P.O. BOX 1057, Stratford, Ontario, Canada N5A 6W4. On the back of your cheque write: Your Change For Her Change Campaign.

A tax receipt will be sent for all donations of $20.00 or more.

It is our hope that CHANGE HER WORLD will have a curriculum and more resources available to assist teachers in these efforts in the not too distant future.
